November 2009 Speaker: Lorie Zapf

Citizens Against Lawsuit Abuse (CALA) is a not-for-profit, nonpartisan grassroots movement of concerned citizens and businesses who are fighting against lawsuit abuse in California. CALA serves as a watchdog to challenge the abuse of our civil justice system, and engages the public and the media to deliver the message that lawsuit abuse is harming our economy and costing jobs.

Lorie Zapf has been the President of Citizens Against Lawsuit Abuse in San Diego since Jan. 2007. Lorie and her husband founded and operated a natural food company in 1995, with the main office located in San Diego. They grew the business to national distribution in health food and outdoor retailers such as Whole Foods and R.E.I. They sold the business in 2002. During her professional career, Lorie has also worked as a news reporter & director for radio and television stations, a documentary video producer and public relations manager.
